POET
damnyo da "genius chyld": is a homegrown LA poet that's been on the scene for less
than 3 years and has accomplish lots in her poetry career. she had two open mic
venues and has produced numerous shows. damnyo is excited about her first
published work called " Trap'd". she is the hardest working poet on the LA scene,
always supporting poets and hosts; always ready to help a fellow poet in need,
especially touring poets; by booking them gigs and ever providing a place to crash.
she is also the slammaster/coach for the LA downtown slam team. she does
promotions and booking for local poet's venues and for different businesses. damnyo
does all this and still has time to push her own work. she is truly the poet on the go
Thu-Trang is currently a victim advocate for an Orange County nonprofit that provides
services to victims of domestic violence and their children. She speaks Spanish, less
Vietnamese, even less French, and teaches English literacy part-time. She envisions
the world family's equal access to self-rule, good health and happiness. She's trying
to become vegetarian, boycott shopping malls, and process the interrelatedness of
capitalist processes and human life here and abroad, all the while keeping deathly
cynicism at bay. Weaning herself off of what other people think, her working motto is
WHO CARES, or WC or W to the C for short.
Workshop
The miracle whips burlesque is a queer femme burlesque/performance troupe.
Our mission.....
We work to deconstruct the transparency of femininity, to create radical erotic
possibilities, and to disrupt conventional notions of sexiness. We are a non-
competitive feminist collective that whips the status quo into shape. To love us is to
love all things genderqueer; to savor fat, skinny and in-between; and to stand (in
heels) against all social inequalities. Our shows hurt like a good spanking,
providing just enough sting to make you remember what you’ve learned!

Performers
Aquanet is a Los Angeles-based troupe/gang of dancers, shit-starters, writers,
artist/retail-extraordinaires.  In the spirit of Emma Goldman and the day of Todd
Bridges and Flobee, we proudly embrace the image of Emma with her trusty
Aquanet can.  WE BELIEVE THE MASSES CAN SHAKE THEIR ASSES.  You have
been warned.  Workshop Description:  Join Aquanet for a "special"
workshop in honor of International Women's Day.  From coast to coast, collective
houses, infoshops,Food Not Bombs and alternative spaces everywhere women
have been duping themselves and their sisters.  Polyamory? Monogomy?  Should
you or shouldn't you sleep with that hot chick that you serve potato nutritional yeast
tofu surprise every Sunday with?  If your ex used to make out with your sister's best
friend's mother, what does that mean really?  Aquanet will decipher strategic points
of action for the socially conscious but horny girl and breakdown tough terminology
like atonka and so forth.  Please come prepared to participate and
share questions
and concerns.
